Appcraft added Streaming Media Recorder Software

Automatically converts downloads into formats suitable for iPods, Palm, Zunes, PSP's, MP3/MP4 players and mobile phones.

User Guide - Recording available media streams

1. Click the Start Monitoring button.

2. If running in restricted mode, click the OK button to dismiss the Restricted Mode dialog.

3. If you wish to automatically convert the downloaded stream into a format suitable for your portable media center then select the appropriate settings from the Conversion Settings drop download list. If you do not wish to convert the downloaded stream select Do not convert from the dropdown.

4. Navigate your web browser to the web page streaming the media you wish to record. It is important that you are recording before the stream starts playing in the broswer. If a stream has already started or is not detected by Jaksta by the time it starts playing click your browsers reload button to start the stream again.

Compatible streams include:

* Streamed via HTTP download on port 80
o FLV
o WMA
o WMV
o ICECAST
o WMX
o Real Audio
o Real Video
o ASF
o MP3
o MP4
o 3GP
o MOV
o AVI

* Streamed via RTMP on ports 1935 and 443
o FLV

* Streamed via RTSP on port 554
o ASF

o WMV

* Some websites stream media on non standard ports. See the notes below.

5. If the stream is compatible, the Jaksta Streaming Media Recorder will detect the stream and queue it for downloading. Once this has occured, you can continue surfing - There is no reason to play the entire stream in the browser.

6. Jaksta will automatically try and determine a useful name from the stream and name the file accordingly, however you can rename the file using the Stream > Rename menu items.

7. To stop recording click the Stop Monitoring button. Streams currently being downloaded will still be processed. No new streams will be added.

Notes:

A. Ports that are being monitored for specific protocols can be added/removed on the Settings dialog which can be opened via the Tools > Settings menu item. Jaksta can only monitor a port for one protocol (HTTP, RMTP, RTSP) at a time.

B. Recorded stream files will be located in the storage folder specified via the Settings dialog which can be opened via the Tools > Settings menu item and opened via the Tools > Open Storage menu item.

C. Recorded files may be played back by selecting Play ... from the required entries right mouse click context menu or the Stream menu.

D. To cancel the download that is currently in progress select Cancel from the required entries right mouse click context menu or Stream menu.

E. To display the progress of a download and/or conversion double click the required entry.
